Film dressings

Film dressings are a standard piece of equipment at any practice or hospital setting. They are used when closure of a wound requires reliable and at the same time waterproof protection against secondary infections. The requirements for the material are therefore very complex.

The film must protect the wound securely against ingress of water or pathogens, particularly multiresistant bacteria. It must not stop moisture moving from the inside to the outside, in order to keep the risk of maceration underneath the dressing as low as possible. Tolerability and comfort are also key factors when deciding whether to use a dressing made of film.

MASTER•AID® film dressings meet these requirements perfectly: Waterproof and germ-proof, they guarantee reliable wound protection and are highly breathable. They allow the wearer to wash and shower without having to change the dressing. Thanks to the transparent, flexible polyurethane film, the dressings provide inconspicuous protection whilst allowing outstanding freedom of movement.

Film plasters and fixing films from the MASTER•AID® family of products are also very easy to handle. A second film on top of the backing gives the dressings added stability, guaranteeing that they are easy to apply and drape without kinking. This avoids cost-intensive failures caused by the film adhering to itself.
